About 10 years ago, my life was totally different. I was a talented goalkeeper in field hockey, but I never reached my top. During the week I enjoyed the student life as you know it. Too much partying with too much booze, too little sleep and unhealthy food.
What a difference with today. I’ve been addicted for about two years now. To running, to cycling, to swimming.
To constantly improve, to be outside, to suffer during training.
I hardly drink alcohol, eat healthy thanks to my girlfriend Tine, lie in my bed around 22:00 and am addicted to training. People who meet me now cannot imagine what my life looked like the old days.
I want to be the best and healthiest version of myself.
It was with this motivation that I completed my biggest challenge last year: I became Ironman in Mont Tremblant, Canada.
My dream came true.
During my long preparation period I learned a lot of lessons. About myself, about training, about nutrition. But also about intrinsic motivation, passion, setting goals. What I encountered during my preparation I applied to my work and my coaching of hockey players and goalies.
In order to further develop myself, I want to share these lessons with you.
